Lol, is like a trigger word activating my "infodump about databases" training.

Like my eyes just roll to the back of my head and I enter sicko mode. Really glad I wrote up that blog post so I can defer to it instead of flooding every single chat I'm in. :P

@mauve I keep wondering about P2P ActivityPub now that I know the ActivityPub spec technically supports it.

@lucid00 Yeah, there's a bit of nuance on how we'll resolve data and how we can make sure loading data is efficient. IMO AP on it's own would be too slow for p2p use cases like "render my timeline with any likes and boosts tracked per post". But there's stuff we can do to make that feasible.

@mauve lately what I've been wondering is how feasible would it be to use SSB as a transport and offline storage mechanism (like how SSB has blog feeds that store posts as blobs), and then have the HTTP side be a SSB Pub server that just publishes the posts as normal.

@lucid00 I wouldn't go that path personally. SSB is very slow at the moment. Maybe once all the new feed stuff lands it'll be a bit more doable tho. It's got the social-based replication down pat though!
