one thing i wanted to get feedback about is an end-user centric feature ignored by all other browsers: wide area unicast DNS-SD browsing capability, or even multicast mDNS-SD as well!

@vortex Interesting. Do you mean for hosting servers from within the browser? We currently resolve ".local" domains if your system has mdns support at the OS level. Also most integrated protocols have support for local network peer discovery.

@mauve (btw within the browsers is an awesome idea & achievable in DNS-SD!!) local multicast mDNS (and wide area DNS-SD) provides for far more than just a resolver function (this is why your local printers just 'work'), it provides service discovery (registration, browsing, configuration, etc) see RFC6762-3 & dns-sd.org for the gory details.

@mauve for instance, IPFS uses _dnslink TXT records (albeit in an ad-hoc way) similar to more generic zeroconf/dns-sd structures.
