how do open source projects that do radically new things get big in the first place? like take nix for example, its first release was in 2003 and it didn't get REALLY big until the last few years. am i just gonna have to sit on my projects for years or decades completely unrecognized before they happen upon the right audience?
@vr-t8x15 yeah idk tbh, i kinda think it's mostly filling a void... take stardust, it's the only thing of its kind really so many people are interested
@technobaboo i suppose, but perhaps people, in general, aren't often cognizant of voids. you have a lot of people interested in stardust because you've been hammering on it for years. here, i don't even really feel like people have honestly given me the time to explain what the fuck my work even is.
@mauve i'd prefer to keep it a secret for now. basically i've been working on this stuff for a long time and got burnt out of trying to do it the "open source way", now i'm trying to put all of my effort into developing something actually practical while figuring out what the plan is to actually get this back out into the public eye.
