the existence of generative ai has really radicalized me to a "the value of art is in its aesthetics, its history, and its story" worldview. ai generated images just feel hollow to me. like, the story of it is just "person wrote prompt into machine." there's nothing there. my brain has started visualizing ai images I see as just a grey box with the prompt in the middle in 10px black times new roman

@suricrasia I think the issue is there's a difference between artists and art consumers of art. A lot of corpos are the latter and just don't care about what art is beyond having a jpeg. Similarly I think the main market served by AI art is people that just want a stock image with zero care about where it comes from. I still see more person to person communities thriving and skipping the AI stuff altogether. I think gooners are also a major segment of AI art consumption?
