@mauve You use a Viture headset, right? How are you liking it?
@j3rn Yeah, Viture XR Pro. It's the best option I've tried so far. I think I need to get some astigmatism lens inserts to get it even better.
I kinda wish the FOV was even bigger and it covered my peripheral vision more. Also it looks stupid since it sticks out on your face noticably more than regular sunglasses.
The myopia adjustment and general clarity is great though.
@j3rn Nice! Yeah I dunno about multi monitor stuff since I just plug it via USB into my linux box. I also like using the neckband to watch shows while I do housework. TBH I mainly got it for the diopters+dimming combo but I think there's other options for that now too. I think XReal is furthest along in terms of consumer software + their puck thing.
@j3rn ugh that's unfortunate. which devices are you using hdmi for?
@mauve My desktop primarily and Starlite Mk V. I have a nice monitor at my desk, I just want the option for the desktop. For the Starlite, it *should* support USB DP Alt-Mode, but I've not been able to get it to work.
@mauve It'd be sweet to use with my Pixel 6, but sadly it does not support any kind of display out. I think display out is going to be a must on my next phone.
@j3rn Oof yeah that's the main reason I ditched pixel last time I needed a change. Been kinda reworking all my peripherals / devices around USB C lately which has been going well. Hope you figure out your laptop sitch 🙏
@mauve The puck thing (Xreal Beam) is deprecated, they're now pushing the Xreal Beam Pro which is basically just an Android phone and is priced accordingly. I'm still trying to figure out an HDMI -> headset bridge (that costs less than $200), Xreal also stopped selling their adapter specifically for this use case, but Viture sells one that *might* work for me.
