What's the best way to measure brain waves as a hobbyist? Muse 2?

@makeworld Depends on what you want. If you want ro measure focus/eye muscles/basic emotional states then the muse is enough. If you want to capture visualization and more advanced brain functions you need a fancier setup like the ones eemotiv release: emotiv.com/products/epoc-x

@mauve I'm mainly interested in brain wave detection (alpha vs beta levels etc, so like focus I guess) for cheap, which I think the Muse is good at? Any advice on which model to get?

@makeworld My muse 2 works decent. It can be a vit finnicky to get the contacs aligned just right. I'd suggest getting the Mind Monitor app from the play store to get immediate info without needing any od the official apps or needing to write your own code. It has nice graphs and CSV exports

@mauve wait, $21?! 😳 That makes me want to just use a Python lib lol but it does look useful

@makeworld IMO it's worth every penny :P No ads or accounts or anything.
