i remember one job interview where i spent the whole day onsite, it was for a pretty senior position. team member after team member would ask me how i would handle some particular problem. it wasnt like a tech algorithm problem, i honestly can't remember what it was but it was higher level, something about tech vision or direction. as if it were intrinsic to who i am. i kept saying that its specific to that company and situation. they seemed to want something else. i think they were really asking, so what do you "bring to the table?". and its something i really struggle with. i think im not really good at anything. im just sort of smart. i think thats really it, honestly. maybe i should just stop trying to make it more than that.

@ellyxir My take is you shouldn't stop trying but have a script or a persona ready for the next occurrance. It's annoying but if people want a performance it can be worth giving them one just to get it over with. Or fuck em for not accepting you as you are I guess?

IMO your track record and public presence is a good start to showing what you bring 🤷
