I was out without my bluetooth headset and it genuinely felt like I was missing a body part since I was disconnected from my data stream and couldn't pause/play my ebook reader on reflex like I usually do.
Then I had the horror where the only place I could express this thought aloud was down because I was out of disk space again. 😭 A whole other severing of my exoself.
Even though I don't have implants I can feel myself being a sort of cyborg already. The digital extensions of my self are similar to physical tools, but they're always there. More like a clothing item or sensory organ than a hammer I only bring out when needed.
@dougmerritt What does the research say on the feeling of being amputated and having phantom limbs when your digital extension is severed? 🤔

I don't know about you, but it makes me feel lost, bewildered, helpless, and brings on existential fatalistic despair.
Which I assume is the case for everyone.
