Oh hey, my old X61 tablet no longer boots and the indicator lights are unresponsive to being plugged into an otherwise working charger (I tested the charger with other thinkpads of the same generation and it works fine)...
Anyone got any ideas on how I might revive it? I remember giving up on it before because I tried to replace the ram and the replacement ram I got was faulty, but I don't remember that interfering with it receiving power. The thing's just been sitting on a shelf w/o battery.
omg this worked! my stinkpad lives again :D <3 https://fosstodon.org/@degregat/117165990930854444
ok now i am in need of spiritual guidance. do i try to update this old ass debian install i was never really happy with and just keep trucking on with it, or should i heed the call of ~adventure~ and try to install plan 9, haiku, temple os, gentoo, gentoo/hurd, alpine, whichever BSD is the good one, and/or windows 7 on this son of a gun?
