Found a guy doing FPV at the beach and he liked checking out my wearable computing setup. Feels really natural to walk around in mixed realities. Especially with how easy it is to move the screen into the corner without needing fancy window managers.

@vbatts I need to do a writeup still. I just did a major update last week. :P tl;dr: khadas edge 2 glued to a battery, twiddler 3 one handed keyboard, XReal One Pro+ glasses for display. BeryliumOS arch distro for ARM linux with niri as the window manager for infinite horizontal scroll.

@mauve whoa nice!
I've toyed with the idea of going more wearble or more cyberdeck, and end up doing neither but just thinking lots about it.
Niri looks fun! How come the BeryliumOS choice?

@vbatts It's fun if you want to prioritize portability. My setup easily fits in a fanny pack when I'm not wearing it and hangs from my belt when I am. Beryllium is just the most active arch distro for arm with drivers and kernel stuff focused on graphical performance on rockchip SBCs. I'm ok using whatever else if it existed. Also I just kinda like how arch works. niri is super fun. Been using it as a normal desktop for years too.
