I want to migrate off github, but I don't want to move to another centralized instance.
Federated or bust. I want people to bring their own accounts from their instances instead of making yet another gitlab account just to open an issue.
Accounts in general should have to go. 🤪
@victor Yessss. When I saw them talking about it I got super excited.
It seems that the grant they they got to implement federation didn't end up being successful however. 😅 I'm just waiting here for it to get done so I can yeet right into it.
@mauve Gitea seems to at least think about the idea, unlikely GitHub, GitLab or any other for-profit org would move in the same direction.
