The nature of my work is that I won't know what my work situation will be like from month to month. New projects start and end about ever 6 months and it's a constant flow of chaos.
I really like it for the flexibility and novel stimulus, but the lack of long term stability has been a bit stressful sometimes.
@cblgh @adz That sounds lovely! I've also been wanting to do a more active push on making local-first tech usable for folks this year via folks at Hypha and Wakoma.
I'd love to join in on chats if there's space. 💜
Especially since there's so many folks getting better at grant writing and getting connections for work. Lots of opportunity to pool resources and skills.
@cblgh @mauve please keep me up-to-date on this. I'm working on @copiepublique (french companies giving % of sales or benefits to fund FLOSS, started last year) and the french alliance of worker-owned cooperative for FLOSS (see https://libre-entreprise.org).

@mauve during p2p-basel and in conversations with @adz and decentral1se (autonomic) we raised the idea of a local-first guild:
a horizontal workers coop (no legal form, probably OC-style) where individuals from projects like ssb, p2panda, earthstar and cabal can pool resources (e.g. 1.25% of a project’s grant amount) and invoice pool continually over time to decrease precarity and increase time and energy we can put into our commons-related projects. quite exciting first discussions & dreaming!
