i just deployed my first multi-server configuration with ansible and i feel like a god

this makes me a much more powerful menace to institutional server infrastructure

IT hasn't gotten back to me about giving me a public IP for my server and so I am making that their problem by automating evasion of their attempts to stop me from making a reverse proxy to it

i thought that was one of those basic security things, if someone wants to do something normal, help them do it in a safe way so they don't grow vengeful about it

i am excited to set up my lil test cluster and start getting things really fucked up accidentally DDoSing myself with like impeccable devops

@jonny saturate thr network bandwidth as a meme and see how to stop it wheb you can'y reliably deliver your ssh packets 🥰💜

@mauve
I've got my seed server online and so next week I am going to bring my briefcase of raspis into work. maybe I'll get a bunch of PoE hats for them, print some inconspicuous enclosures and see if I can get a lil of that "network persistence" going by wandering around looking for open jacks.

that'll be a nice testing setup for writing hole punching, and who knows they might accidentally end up pinning some of the libgen IPFS nodes

@jonny OMG I think I managed to kill my home networks internet bandwidth by seeding like 10 mbits upload. Couldn't do any zoom calls or anything 😅😅
