@sofia I like to think that anarchist leftists have an explicit "the people must be aware of power and band together to keep concentrations of power from overwhelming the whole" goal which is different from authoritarianism or hoping the powerful will be nice. A lot of leftists don't seem to have that though.
@mauve (genuine) anarchists are exactly who i'm not talking about here, of course (though some have tried to dilute the term "anarchism". other topic i guess).
my post was inspired by a quote of some soccer guy who explained that he's left wink because he likes the welfare state and really really likes taxes, and stuff like that gets tons of praise 🙄…
