is there literally any chat service that became sustainable without:
charging most users for entry
selling ads and user data
being decentralized
?
@starshine @delta is doing some cool stuff. I think grant funding has been useful for getting these protocols set up.
I also use Matrix on the daily and it fits the criteria.
i asked if any chat service that *doesn't* have any of those three things has become sustainable
