correct, for properly made soap with real ingredients. Once the oils in the soap go bad is when it starts to taste bad.

Beauty bars, body wash, hand bars, and other names are used for detergents because less than 50% is actually soap - made from natural ingredients. if its more than 50% real soap then they can call it soap. Still doesn't mean there can't be detergents in it though.
Don't put those in your mouth unless you know its all natural ingredients.
