@mauve Oh, completely! I went to the doctor about this going on 5 years ago. They told me to fill out a form. It's still in the bottom of a cupboard drawer somewhere, unfilled.
@jsbarretto So real. 😭 I've been trying to use my partners as reminder systems but even that's hard cause the timing needs to align.
@mauve A thing I've found that works is to set myself alarms. When it goes off, do the thing. If not possible: reschedule the alarm for 1/2 the previous timeout. Turns complex task management into a simple rule with a guaranteed completion time that you can promise to others
@jsbarretto Yeah alarms + snooze / reschedule is such a life saver. I basically live by the calendar. Maybe this is the opportunity for you to schedule doing your form! 😸 I finally got my doctor calls done just now.
@jsbarretto Yeah that's fair. I just use the smallest dose to give me a bit of focus during work. Been doing a good job reworking my life to make the symptoms less of a problem in recent years. Mostly switching so I can quit caffeine.
@mauve Yeah, certainly. Whatever floats your goat and so on. Some previous employers were much less understanding. I remember doctoring commit timestamps and so on to make it look like the work I did when my brain was engaged was more spread out over the working week. Thankfully, my current employer 'gets it' a lot more and is ok with 80% of my work getting done in 10-hour marathons at random times.
