Slop dev is just annoying. These things are so much less capable than advertised. It seems okay for creating something unoriginal but they really can't "understand" something beyond the basics.
@mauve I am constantly stuck between people telling me how amazing agentic coding is and other people saying that it generates absolute garbage. I've generated a lot of decent simple stuff and completely face planted on more difficult things in a domain that I didn't understand as well.
Are the excited vibe coders just better than I am at prompting / programming? Is this the collapse of consensus reality that we're all worried about?? I feel so lost.
