Instead of "is it decentralized" I'm more interested in "can it work off-grid".
@mauve This is primarily a power-management problem. Most so-called decentralized technologies will not work off-grid except in demos. For instance, anything running on a smartphone is an impractical choice when there is a power budget.
@mauve Story of my life. Existing consumer hardware is a dead end. It doesn't have the right kind of radios in it. You can't fix that with software. The only way we can have nice things is to work together to build them. There are always some people that have preferences that do not match with what reality can deliver and so just prefer to wait. I feel for them, but unfortunately we can't help them, and there are lots of other people that need help, too.
