According to my mother I've had really good night vision since I was a toddler walking around the house with zero night lights. I still love getting to wander at night, especially when I'm too far from the city's light pollution.
@bytebro sounds lovely! I haven't gotten true darkness since we had a city wide power outage a few years ago. 🥰

Yes. 30-odd years ago I had a freelance gig near Basingstoke UK, and had digs in 'Old Basing'[1]. Utterly dark at night, bcs no street lights. I loved the walk 'home' from the pub at night.
1. Beautiful little village - probably all built on by now, but I want to go back and see what's survived!
