Any folks know of long form resources for learning how to do repl based development? I saw an article that said they used live debugging of a running system on a space mission which has got me intrigued.

@mauve I'd be very interested in this too. People talk about all that, and I've seen how fun lisp could be back around its/tops20. The repl in, say, sbcl doesn't seem quite as friendly, among other things.

@tcikoritys Right?! I tried to give SBCLs repl a shake but I couldn't figure out what the hype was about. Just moving around the cursor and the code was kind of tedious compared to other repls I've tried. 😅

@mauve Right? I actually would love to be very interested, but can't quite get past the repl. I have things I'd love to build in a lisp environment. It's also possible that I'm a terrible programmer, but yeah. Curious what you're doing with Lisp.

@tcikoritys TBH I don't have any specific projects lined up yet. Pretty much anything I could do in lisp I could do faster in any of the other languages I know :P

I'm thinking of following this article to make a logic engine just for the practice:

Then probably some messing with ASTs and parsers?

Also see this person's setup with rlwrap which makes the REPL a bit nicer. snac.d34d.net/pkw/p/1786980640
