Sould I get a new head mounted display I can bring with me walking + coding (better fov, perscription lenses), or should I get the Steam Frame VR headset for a bit more gaming and being stationary and less "walking and coding". Long form thoughts appreciated.

@mauve i (sadly) still prefer quest 2/3 for local-first dev (via termux or wssh to my linux handheld or phone) over my xreal AR-glasses. I dont know about Frame too much, but its a bit too early for me (as I need to curb myself contributing to community projects which enable me to get up and running)

@lvk What do you prefer about it? What sort of device did you connect your xreals to?

@mauve xreal air 2 + nixos (a bit cumbersome tbh due to proprietary displayport, forces me to use certain videodrivers to detect it, only IMU in monado, only as root). Android works as a breeze...haven't really tried termux, I guess due to low fov compared to quest 1/2. I guess once the fov has been seen, I cannot 'unsee' it 🤔

@lvk Is tour nix flake published? I'm thinking of getting an XReal One Pro so I can have the spatial tracking on headset without any special software. I think one oversized monitor with 3DoF will suffice for what I need tbh. The XReal Aura has 70 FOV so I've considered waiting for it instead. 🤔 Getting monado to work was a major PITA on Arch linux so I kinda gave up. :P But I don't think I need xrdesktop and the such either?
