The best part about programming is when things appear on the screen

I just absolutely love that "If You Can’t Measure It, You Can’t Manage It", a dogmatic truism attributed to men with Big Management Brains, is merely a fiction embraced by the corporate world.

I think as web developers we have been collectively brainwashed into thinking that you must use React and Tailwind to create websites, when all you really need are vanilla web standards and a text editor. We should be making it easier to make websites than it is right now. You should not need a PhD in web design to create something that you can share and express yourself. We need more tools that make web development easy, not more tools that turn it into some 10 step build process #webdev

Anyone wanna pay me to make an inspired p2p database?

@yhancik I *am* in hundreds of rooms with thousands of new messages on load but it really shouldn't need to process all that on load.

@ww Low key wanna go back to ICQ and tell all my work contscts to use that instead :P

Element is like the least efficient app I've used to date. It somehow manages to take like 10 minutes to load while totally freezing my browser and spinning my CPU fan to max loudness.

@jazzbox35 Install instructions for what? I usually run models from my own harnesses these days.

Holy shit the new from microsoft is 3.8B params but performs better than a bunch of 7B models I've tried. Now I just need to find a way to get it to do function calling.

@Filene @atax1a yeah absolutely. I read the book "The Structure Of Magic" to understand how to work with it better. I wish I could use it to talk to computers more effectively but it's also just way less reliable than computer code :P
