@mos_8502 I found it got easier to read after the first few thousand lines of code. I agree though it was hard to grock with all the conventions that don't exist in other places.
My poor mastodon server reached a full disk since it seems my automated cleanup script wasn't running. Luckily I had a file allocatex to give me extra space for recovery and I let it run overnight. :P 75 GB of random attachmentd I probably have never seen. I think stuff like that should be loaded on demand tbh
I just realized what I hate about modern chat: it's not a small window on the screen anymore, it's *the whole screen*.
Discord (et al) is barely usable in a small window, whereas AOL Instant Messenger was *very* usable in a small window as you went about your browsing.
For me, smaller window = fewer distractions.
They also frame it as the plot of The Matrix which is hilarious to me.
God I love The Matrix 😭💜
@skryking Big mood. Especially since my scroll wheel is "virtual" and sometimes isn't enough to trigger the page change which is even worse. I iust want to see the tech specs and scroll in peace 😭
7. A head mounted display with an Android TV box you can wear as a neckband. It can do everything my rokid max can and more. I could install termux to do dev on it or RDP into other boxes.
@mosseri Heyo! I'm working on making this fediverse stuff work over peer to peer file transfer protocols like BitTorrent so we can skip needing servers in the first place :)
Occult Enby that's making local-first software with peer to peer protocols, mesh networks, and the web.
Yap with me and send me cool links relating to my interests. 👍
