Considering joining a LARP group but also it'd mean being disconnected from cyberspace for a few days on a camp ground which I haven't done in years.
Read a short story recently where "the real world" was called "The Dirty" and the virtual reality humans inhabited was called "The Clean". I think I still prefer meatspace/cyberspace. Both are homes for the noosphere.
Seem cyberdecks are getting more mainstream. Gotta figure out a usb 5g module for mine so I can finally ditch my phone

3 years back, teacher acquaintance said to me,
"School district IT won't support old classroom laptops, so they are all going to e-waste. Trash! Want one?"
Brought wagon, filled it, and I took them all.
Sorted, tested, labeled, figured out which still worked, stored them.
Now, younger childbeast tells me,
"My friends are tired of Windows, and want to learn Linux. Can we set them up?"
So, loading laptops last night, getting them ready for new homes.

I don't care that journalists or influencers find their posts get less "engagement" here.
I do care that real people, at least afaik, keep saying they have nice conversations here. I have nice conversations here.
We don't need "a federated Twitter," we need a place for humans to communicate. No other social media tech seems to place that as a priority. They pick metrics and they hire people to optimize those, and they consider that success. 🧵
