Documentation that's inaccurate is probably worse than no documentation at all. When there's no documentation about a thing, I will sometimes run tests of my own to see where the edges of some API functionality is or whatever. When the documentation is wrong, though, it rules out things in my mind entirely and only when I get utterly desperate do I finally start directly testing the stuff the documentation assured me was true.

Stux = guy who runs mstdn.social and a bunch of other general-purpose fedi sites
Welshpixie = lady who runs mastodon.art, an art focused mastodon website
AJ = guy who runs retro.social, this website
Meta = Facebook, hereafter referred to as Facebook because they don't get to change their name and wash away their past sins any more than my Lucky Goldstar dishwasher does

A Winsford Mocha is an analogue of this fancy "mocha" coffee stuff you tasted once in the far-off land of Chester, where they have coffee shops; you live in Winsford, which is a town best known for having Europe's last remaining salt mine, a literal man-made hole in the world, where there are no such frivolities, so you attempt your own. It's two spoons of instant coffee, two spoons of Cadbury's drinking chocolate, microwaved for a minute, stirred and microwaved for another minute, and drunk with thumb resting on the spoon because the contents tend to settle.

I wanna know what a new generation of #p2p looks like that's actively oppositional to the information economy. one that implements adversarial interoperability as a first class feature, that hops over API limits intended to keep you walled in gardens. one that makes a mockery of egress and storage fees. one where we don't plan to play nice, because the information conglomerates aren't either!

I think the shitpost's apparent aesthetic distance from 'poetry' is what makes it possible for so many people to develop poetic chops as poster's. if they'd known they would be writing poetry they'd have been too afraid

I’ve been exploring the fediverse and subbing and posting all over the damn place. Realizing lemmy can federate with kbin blew my mind. Not to mention the possibility of turning my old laptop into a personal server to host my own instance. Is this what it felt like to discover how the internet worked in the 90s?
