From the top of my head

Many graph views of the instance I federate with:
* a view with weight by count of public/unlisted/DM toot with incoming/outgoing/both.
* same view that include when we federated / (rever) order by when we federated, how we federated with them (a boost(from where) , a toot search, etc.)

A way to send a message as an admin to another admin on a remote instance.

Using my phone feels so limiting now that I've started using my steam deck around the house.

Zero multitasking and typing on this thing sucks compared to the dual touchpad virtual keyboard and my custom STT setup

Honestly, I wish I could interact with everything through APIs instead of fancy user interfaces. I hate having to install extra apps and dig around before I can find the button I need to click to do the thing I want to do.

This message brought to you by me being frustrated with how long it took to get access to EFTs from my bank.

@counternotions Jeeze. Kinda sobering to see how Google's attempts to monopolize the web is just regular assumption over there.

> The value of owning the ecosystem cannot be overstated. Google itself has successfully used this paradigm in its open source offerings, like Chrome and Android. By owning the platform where innovation happens, Google cements itself as a thought leader and direction-setter, earning the ability to shape the narrative on ideas that are larger than itself.

mastodon.social spam discourse

Honestly, I almost feel like I'm missing out on all this mastodon social spam. :P

Maybe my instance doesn't have enough reach for bots to bother.

@trevorflowers Yeah! I saw one person in the Bastard Keyboards discord did something like that. But they added little stands to their arm rests which let them adjust the spacing to make it just right. Very inspiring. Still had to run cables between them and to the computer though.

As expected, this thing can't code for shit. :P

Just ran a lil LLM on my . 7b with 4bit quantization so it's pretty small and dumb. I'm calling it stink-demon.

I'm gonna try to get it to do simple formatting tasks from text I've selected with my mouse based on the speech to text I'm adding to my deck via Vosk and steam-dictation.

It is genuinely baffling how much discussion of passkeys omits the extremely basic question of WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU LOSE YOUR PHONE theverge.com/2023/5/3/23709318

@marty Pain relief is defs pretty high on my priorities. I also find that having to move my hand to my mouse adds a bunch of extra pain.

Low key been thinking of just using the controller portion of my steam deck and speech to text instead of typing+mouse. The lil trackpad has been way nicer to use for everything but typing.

@trevorflowers @marty Interesting, ty for the links.

I think my needs are a bit different from what most keyboards cater to.

What I really want is:
- As few keys as possible
- Thumb-accessible mouse or trackball
- Split in two halves
- Bluetooth enabled

The closest that I found that meets my wants is the Dilemma from Bastard Keyboards, but that doesn't have BT and there's no easy path to add it. bastardkb.com/product/dilemma/

After two hours of fixating on it I have discovered I am not hardcore enough for a split keyboard. 🤪

The ones that seem most appealing are custom built and I just don't have the hardware knowledge or expendible income go gain it / the tools for it at the moment.

Dear developers: I don't want to use your app on my phone. I want a mobile web version, and you can do that.

Thanks kindly.

@nx @sc @GeeksLoveDetail Low key I'm considering making an offline-first 2fa app using npmjs.com/package/otpauth and a bit of low-effort JS. :P

@GeeksLoveDetail Weird. BitWarden requires you to "request" an ID and key to self host. :/

bitwarden.com/host/

Not a fan

Anyone know of an alternative to 1password and the such which is self hosted and supports acting as a app?

@thisismissem Theoretically yes, but I have zero clue where it's actually storing it's data. It's not in .local as far as I can see. 😅 Also not clear from their source code. (I'm not much of a C++ QT app wiz)
