I have Ruffle, a chrome extension installed, and on many sites flash content simply works and yes, newgrounds etc are still around. Newgrounds has it's own flash player even.
@izaya Me when I was in the park the other day with a head mounted display and my steam deck coding federated software and listening to squirrels fight.
@Are0h@ubiqueros.com Oh cool, that's what https://thebad.space/about is
Ty for working on this. :)
@dym Oh!! I didn't know .ink was even an option.
K, ty for the brainstorm, I'll run these by some artsy folks in meatspace to get their reactions. :P
@dym postaboot.art is pretty cheap too and kinda describes what folks would do on there. I feel like aboot.ca misses the art aspect.
abootart.ca is cool too?
Neat! I love how we're getting a new class of mobile devices with these #ar glasses based things like the XReal Beam.
I'm excited to be able to get a lil compute puck that I can run Linux + @stardustxr on as my primary device.
@dym @thisismissem Nice. 180 dollars to sign up though so I'll need to think if I wanna spend that much on a domain. :P
Maybe something-aboot.art or aboot-something.art?
talkaboot.art is an order of magnitude cheaper. 🤔
@thisismissem Oh yeah! That's a great idea actually. I think having some very "canadian" sounding words could be fun.
From my experience most other Canadians I know are pretty chill with the stereotypes they're assigned. :P
I feel like "beaver" would be a good one but the connotations with genitalia would be a problem. 😅
Hey folks, I'm thinking of starting a #ottawa / #toronto / #ontario based #PixelFed instance for #artists and #makers
I think it'd be a great intro to different types of folks to the #Fediverse that aren't necessarily into the twitter-style on mastodon.
Any thoughts for names? I'm thinking of some sort of `.art` or `.ca` domain.
gender, non-binary identity woes
Kinda excited for the day I'll get to hang out in spaces where it/its pronouns are taken seriously instead of with eye boggling.
I think I only have like one person in my life that consistently uses them and it also uses it/its pronouns. It's like how when I came out as a they/them I had to start constantly proving myself, but now it's even with other queer people. 😅
I can see how it'd be hard given how novel it'd be for most folks to encounter though.
Oopsie, looks like my server filled up overnight and now I need to do more clearning. :x
Looks like I'll want to do a more aggressive purge of old attachments. Maybe I should really upgrade to 4+ so I can use the `tootctl accounts prune` API.
Also I think this speaks to there being merit in caching more stuff client side and using content addressing + p2p instead of large central caches.
@nf lmao yeah. The default rental form 410 even encourages applicants to give their SIN even though it's marked as optional it seems kinda dangerous to set that precedent
@jonny looks like it could be related to mating cycles?
@jonny baring her teeth isn't to bite, they have additional olfactory organs that get exposed when they do that.

I see people question @pixelfed over @Mastodon, and that's fine (I ❤️ Mastodon, sent from Mastodon)
However I think it's important to note that Pixelfed has Stories, Collections, Portfolios and much more!
You can post pics on Twitter, but Flickr, 500px and Instagram still thrive!
Portfolios: https://portfolio.pixelfed.social/dansup
Collections: https://pixelfed.social/c/530360750719739665
Use whatever best fits you, and know that @pixelfed + @Mastodon work great together ✨
Buh, house hunting is stressful. You gotta give them a bunch of your personal information and finances and then sit there twiddling your thumbs seeing if you actually get it.
Really hope I get accepted for some of these! Really excited to have a proper washer/dryer in my unit so laundry can be less of a pain. :P
@eater Yeah! Know of any nice graphical tools on top of that by any chance?
Occult Enby that's making local-first software with peer to peer protocols, mesh networks, and the web.
Exploring what a local-first cyberspace might look like in my spare time.
