My main win from using wayland natively is that my speech to text with `ydotool` now gets affected by keyboard modifyers. If I want to quit an application I hit my left bumper (mapped to ctrl) on my controller and say `quebec`. If I want to open my terminal I hit R4 and say "tango". Toggling my STT is R4+A (return jkey).

With this I am more effective with stt+controller than my mini bt keyboard. 🥳

Eventually I want to get a screen reader involved to more effectively navigate content.

@il_Lost_ Kinda related though, this group is making a bunch of useful primitives for cyberspace. v-sekai.org/

@stardustxr is doing great things for making your baseline OS desktop environment 3d-friendly.

This was a really promising project but it kinda crashed chasing crypto and ai hype. Their baseline for representing virtual projects and social features is super cool though. github.com/webaverse

I have some old writings here I need to update: blog.mauve.moe/posts/cyberspac

@il_Lost_ When I say cyberspace I mean the abstract concept associated with cyberpunk books like Neuromancer, not a specific app or protocol. 😅

I don't think I'd make a good warlord because my strategy is to grow big as fast as possible and crush my foes with might. More nuance and politica is way to frustrating in comparison. Mostly in Civ and Magic The Gathering

Putting together my first project with today.

Gonna make a lil 3dof collage for my partner with photos of our cats.

Neat, came accross this alternative to the

Seems to be aimed mostly at retro gamers but it also has a vr mode for some reason. I wonder if it can run linux >:)

BTW for anyone into and , I have a matrix channel set up where we chat about that stuff and how it overlaps with decentralized systems. matrix.to/#/#LoFirCy:mauve.moe

It works! Huge thanks to the community for helping debug.

If anyone else ends up trying to get running with on their machine with and , I've summarized my notes here: gitlab.freedesktop.org/monado/

I love that feeling when I change to a new input device and have to start relearning the muscle memory for all of my keyboard shortcuts.

it's funny when I keep hitting the wrong key and accidentally mess up

K! Take six on trying to get to work. If it does this would be good timing with me trying to get into

Still need to figure out an input device however. I really want a controller based input scheme to start so I don't need to deal with hand tracking and all that.

@technobaboo Oh jeeze. Upstreaming is more of a politics thing than a codebase thing IMO. sadly I don't think I have the clout for that yet. Igalia would be the folks to reach out to for that.

@screaminggoat @mttaggart conversely, as someone who works in cyber insurance, and sees that the amount of data held is one of the biggest drivers of incident costs, I’d *love* to see less personal data being held by companies and moved around.

Been doing a bit better at letting my body rest when sick instead of pushing through but the productivity hit so frustrating. An entire day and then some lost to a cold TT_TT

I'm a major boomer when it comes to using apps but boy do I love digging around system logs and command line tools 🥰🥰🥰

LMAOO I had a typo in my test url.

Good news! The replies index in the social inbox seems to be working. social.dp.chanterelle.xyz/v1/@

With this static websites can easily link to the replies collection of their posts without needing to recompile for every reply. AP clients or instances can then pull those replies into their thread view. Next up we'll be rolling this out to sutty sites and pulling them in reader.distributed.press
