@heapwolf doesn't use unsafe and it's pretty non-trivial.

You also don't need to use unsafe to make use of it.

At CES I stumbled on this Linux ARM handheld from @mecha Systems You can switch out the IO with a keyboard and gamepad in the works. What do you all think? VIDEO: zurl.co/2ebET

Job opportunities

My organisation is looking for a Campaign and Membership Digital Infrastructure Specialist - someone who knows Action Network, and integrations like Airtable, on a contract. Figure there might be some of you around here!

Also, we are recruiting a Head of Operations, part-time, remote. It is mostly helping us work effectively online, tending to people, culture and governance.

Happy to answer any questions!

@technobaboo @atomicpoet You need new accounts but you can follow / talk to pixrlfed users like any other AP impl. I have an instance on cybergram.art if you're curious to try it

a git forge idea

@nasser I think Mastodon would just ignore vocab it doesn't understand. But you could probs post stuff as both. Main reason to reuse forgefed is compat with other impls that are working on it.

social inbox is in typescript, we have some docs here as well as links to source: docs.distributed.press/social-

a git forge idea

@nasser I think it's a mastodon thing. There's "replies" collections in the spec but they aren't being fully utilized IMO

a git forge idea

@nasser Also HMU if you end up doing this! I've been doing a bunch of static AP stuff with distributed.press and have a minimal inbox impl that could be adjusted to support such a thing easily enough

Making our handbook more accessible to people with screen readers also means making it more accessible to our bot. It doesn't have eyes yet so capturing diagram structure in captions is essential.

Gonna be presenting my Tonal Lenses talk at tonights meetup in

Hopefully it'll be recorded so I can share it here after

which is why am going back to one of my hills: software developers are artisans, some are even artists.

software developers and engineers are part of the creative classes; and by default, the working classes.

it’s why they need, more than ever, to have their consciousness raised and radicalized 😉

I woke up the other morning and discovered that during my sleep I had transformed into a monstrous bug.
Here's what it taught me about B2B sales:

Damb I want that solar power cloak that they had at CES 😍

I want to publicly announce a change in my thinking. For many years I have promoted non-profits, especially foundations as a good way to keep FOSS (Free and Open Source) projects protected and effective.

Not any more.

I am now leaning towards coops as the better vehicle. The cooperative approach allows for better distribution of power to those that do the work where foundations typically concentrate power on those with the money. This might become a long thread that'll take some time.

@kris I'm excited to pair it with my Viture Neckband for portable computing. neckband.viture.com/

@kris I found this video on youtube which is what got me into this again. Also saw some vids of them doing programming which is my main use case for keyboards. youtube.com/watch?v=bVzi4fDzxq

@j3rn Pirate some games/demoware and share then around. I got a lot of mileage out of an Unreal Tournament CD I used to share around.
