@andrew_chou @hazematman Fresh feels very similar to vs code which is nice. It's also quite resource hungry which is less nice. Using like a gig of ram with a js project with just a couple of files open for editing. Can't imagine what it needs so much for. Maybe LSP?
@hazematman Yeah, honestly I've been holding back because I'm not a fan of editors with different "modes" and complex key binding setups. I've had to use LSP stuff for work though so I'll just suck it up and figure something out. 😅 Might try one of these newer ones like this https://getfresh.dev/
Almost getting to the point where I can be productive with my #khadas Edge 2 SBC. My desktop env is running. Got my browser compiling, but I need to figure out how to bake some command line args when running it so it will do proper hardware acceleration. VSCode barely runs since it's so bloated so I'm probs gonna go back to nano or some editor with simple keybinds and LSP support
@brandon Sadly HID keyboards just can't do that with the way OSs handle them. 😭 Closest I can get is entering unicode escape sequences with ctrl+shift+u and some numbers as a macro.
@soapdog I really would. 😍💜
@angelthorns as a Canadian I can relate :P
Being a human #ProTip: if you find yourself saying "sorry" too much. Start saying "thank you" instead. E.g. "Thank you for your patience" instead of "sorry I was 1 minute late". Sets the tone for collaboration and positivity.
@RosePuckey Interesting! Which localization is your reader's voice set to? I usually use espeak on linux with US English. I bet different accents say it differently. Noted regarding clumping at the end. I try to limit my number of tags to just one or two to keep them from being too annoying.
@pawpower Good to know, thank you. I'm on Linux (using the web interface) and on Android with Tusky. They've been so so. I'll try muting more of my timeline. I've mostly taken to unfollowing folks that post too much and making more focused "lists" for specific topics. Might just need to cut down a lot more to make it manageable. 😅 Is a braille display useful for skimming through large amounts of text? I've been curious to learn.
@brandon Sweet. Think this would be better for me to learn than Uiua? https://www.uiua.org/
I've been meaning to add a "unicode outputs" mode to my keyboard which would make this a lot faster to type.
@lutindiscret Seen it before, haven't tried it out yet myself. 😸
Ant Fact of the Day:
"Ant Garnets" are tiny red gems found by ants. I know this sounds made up ... but it's real.
Harvester ants dig deep nests (up to 6m!) and they bring the soil to the surface grain by grain. Sometimes they find garnets, tiny precious red gemstones.
These are waste to the ants: they end up in the spoil heap around the nest. When it rains, the lighter stone washes away, the garnets from deep in the earth remain.
Those in the know can collect them from the surface.
@brandon whoaa. Is there a way to translate the symbols into function names or something? 🤯
