I'm pretty glad that the number of things I'm deeply stressed about had been cut down by like 60% over thr past couple weeks 😅 Sadly some things are looming and out of my control but at least I can check off some of the ones I can actually influence.

Downloadable software is great because you can keep using it if you like it and the developers have to make you like their new thing enough to buy it.

Don't rush over to Godot Engine, it's not really advanced enough to buy Wētā Workshop or integrate gambling or spyware platforms into it's runtime

@aeva Yeah very similar experience on my end. I think not being super vocal or being an obvious "target" for outrage helps a lot too? I think a lot of PoC and trans folks for example get extra harassment just for existing within view of folks that want to get out of their way to hate them.
I think who people on your instance follow/are followed by can also have a huge effect so large instances like .social increase the opportunities for beef.

I used to get frustrated a lot by folks misgendering me back before I came out as non-binary. It didn't matter too much but it was like I wasn't performing gender well enough and folks would give me a hard time about it.
Now I go to the pizza place and get sir and mammed minutes apart by different employees and it just makes me giggle since I can sit comfortably in my androgny.
Also when folks they/them me without needing to have to spell it out for them. 🥰

@jalcine Interesting. Yeah I'd love to mess with it more once we stabilize some more of this activitypub stuff. I kinda want to make a client that will load data from all sources and present it in a "standard" way that users can customize.
Compaints have now been reduced to grumblings. Still hurts to type though :P Doing a bunch of docs today so I'll see if I can do the bulk via STT

ha ha I think at this point I've been fully consumed by the beast known as Semantic Web. (though maybe that means I can eat some of it from the inside with p2p tech)
I think it'd be cool if in addition the #ActivityPub client-server interface we had some sort of standard for accessing your timeline using Linked Data Framgents or something similar. It'd be nice if "what you seen on your timeline" was more of a client side concern and portable accross implementations instead of needing a custom mastodon-only endpoint.
