I know l've mentioned this before, but during my trial i was found not guilty on the use of mace charge after I was able to prove I deployed my mace against the proud boys in self defense and defense of property, and that I was assaulted first. When I was first assaulted by PBs, I was filming a flag burning and it was entirely unprovoked. I did however get found guilty on felony riot just for being there, despite all the evidence showing why I was there and what I was doing. The prosecutor still painted
me to be the ring leader of antifa and "leading chargers" that day against PBs. The trial itself was absolute hell. The time leading up to it was hell. They sent me to jail where I spent two weeks in maximum security and I now am on 2.5 years of probation.
Earlier this week, local Proud Boy Berry Johnson plead guilty to his charges stemming from that same day before his trial was set to begin. Although during my trial the prosecutor argued that the definition of someone "participating" in a riot included just simply speaking to people who may have different intentions, Berry did not receive this charge. By that definition, anyone present would have been a "participant." The fact that a few dozen publicly identified proud boys who were there and brutally assaulting people who received no charges aside, Berry Johnson was only charged with a misdemeanor. Not only was he acting violently throughout the day and instigating violence, but the situation he caught charges on he assaulted an older gentleman and pulled a knife on him along with tearing up his banner.
Mind you after I had my lawyer tell them I would *only* possibly entertain noncooperative plea deals, in the three years of dealing with this case before it went to trial I was only ever offered one plea deal- which was to plead guilty to all my chargers and do a month in jail lol.
Fully fascist state, full stop, masks off. They’re saying the quiet part out loud. I’m not surprised by this, but going through it is beyond dystopian.

@skryking oof yeah. Hopefully it's adressable with a change in sleeping habits or something. One of my pals recently started using one of those pregnancy pillows to sleep which helped with a bunch of random joint pains.
Taking today off of work as time in lieu but sadly have to do at least an hour to unblock some stuff anyway 😅 At least I got to do some chores I've been putting off for a while.
@skryking Big mood. Finding correlations between actions and weather and pain levels can be (type 2) fun . Sometimes even if I didn't overdo things the weather is just like "your joints are going to hurt like hell today lmao" and I just have to eat shit. :P
@suricrasia I think the issue is there's a difference between artists and art consumers of art. A lot of corpos are the latter and just don't care about what art is beyond having a jpeg. Similarly I think the main market served by AI art is people that just want a stock image with zero care about where it comes from. I still see more person to person communities thriving and skipping the AI stuff altogether. I think gooners are also a major segment of AI art consumption?

@suricrasia They're pretty amazing honestly. Truly an abomination for the modern age. IMO it's be cool if they were living creatures you could bio engineer to producs different compounds like energy drinks or mashed potatoes.

@jackdaw_ruiz It slowly eats your life and mind. Non zero chance you start thinking in orgmode. It being extendable and covering so many functions may be part of it. A big part of it is where it mixes with the GNU-focused sector of open source / free software folks. At least in my observations.

Has someone made a thing to convert mathematical notation to code, that would be great, because I can read code but when im looking at a big pile of Greek symbols my eyes just sorta glaze over unless my job depends on it
@andrew_chou I wouldn't say I quite *love* html, but my fave part of it compared to xml js that I don't need to bother with namespaces and there's really just one way to write each tag/attribute. XML namespaces instantly add a bunch of confusing bloat that just isn't friendly to look at. One of the main things that's kept me away from RDF so long tbh.
