resharing this after they deleted the thread. I think people might want to know that the CEO of the tool they are using to protect themselves with is a JD Vance fan...

The DIY FOSS Cyborg dustycloud.org/blog/the-diy-fo

Yes, I met a DIY FOSS Cyborg who lives in Emacs and Guix full-time. And YOU TOO can live such a life, if you dare!

We updated our bot to keep track of chat history and only chime in when mentioned. We forgot to tell it what anyone's name was or what it's name was so it got hella confused and forgot how to use most of its tools :P

If you are still using the Circle V ⓥ logo to indicate you support Veilid, we are switching to the Square V 🅅 logo to disambiguate from the Vegan/Vegetarian usage of that symbol, which has caused some confusion.

Please update your profiles, and thanks for supporting us!

@tychi That's interesting. I was thinking of using a combo of dpad + amalog stick. Analog stick rotates to select one of 6 zones, then clicking the dpad in six directions to type the character / symbol. My main issue is I really need all the special characters needed for programming which drastically increases the number of combos I must represent 😅

10. This is like the final step in evolution for me. It's purely a controller meant to hook into external displays. Some folks have already managed to get Linux on it too. Main thing it's missing is a keyboard. If I could figure out a proper text input scheme with a controller and get that working with my LUKS encryption it'd be golden.

I love the lil "mroo" sound my cat makes. 😭💜

@ana Could I be symmetrical on the horizontal plane with a double torso? It's important for shareholder value

@heapwolf doesn't use unsafe and it's pretty non-trivial.

You also don't need to use unsafe to make use of it.

At CES I stumbled on this Linux ARM handheld from @mecha Systems You can switch out the IO with a keyboard and gamepad in the works. What do you all think? VIDEO: zurl.co/2ebET

Job opportunities

My organisation is looking for a Campaign and Membership Digital Infrastructure Specialist - someone who knows Action Network, and integrations like Airtable, on a contract. Figure there might be some of you around here!

Also, we are recruiting a Head of Operations, part-time, remote. It is mostly helping us work effectively online, tending to people, culture and governance.

Happy to answer any questions!

@technobaboo @atomicpoet You need new accounts but you can follow / talk to pixrlfed users like any other AP impl. I have an instance on cybergram.art if you're curious to try it

a git forge idea

@nasser I think Mastodon would just ignore vocab it doesn't understand. But you could probs post stuff as both. Main reason to reuse forgefed is compat with other impls that are working on it.
