There are some folks who want a faster-moving, constantly-updated AP and AS2 docs.

We have a great process for making new extensions and applications of AP and AS2. It moves fast and is really loose:

codeberg.org/fediverse/fep

And you can do this kind of development outside of the FEP process, too.

AP and AS2 need to move slow and stable so everyone can build on them. Extensions can be fast and wild, because that's where new things happen.

NEPHEW: Does life get easier when you're older?

ME: [eating "ranch blasted" taco shells directly from the box because they are basically giant corn chips] Life doesn't get easier but you learn to adapt

@mcc imagining the timeline where nobody figured out chemical batteries and so all electrical capacitors everywhere run on clockwork

materials science is less interested in finding room-temperature semiconductors and more in finding materials for making the smallest, sturdiest springs possible

@mauve@mauve.moe In Oslo, 20 years ago there was an art exhibition on 3 central subway stations where they changed all the ads with art for a couple of weeks. It was suddenly so nice to wait for the subway withouth being forced to watch all this stuff that is really shouting. No movement and just food for thought, if you wanted to take it in.

Did you know that the CEO of General Motors, Mary T. Barra, is also on the board of The Walt Disney Company?

They are, and the UAW are quite literally up against the same people SAG-AFTRA and WGA are up against. Their fight is our fight.

Maybe concentrating wealth and power in only a few hands was a bad idea.

Sometimes I think about how bees just know to collect pollen and build hives while we need instructions to even make bread. But then I remember, bees never built a Furby, did they?

It sucks there's not swappable face plates for major kitchen appliances and stuff.

My stove, fridge, and dishwasher (all hand me downs) are all different colors. I'd be willing to pay to get them to match too, but replacing any one of them is basically $1000 for a good one $500 for a super cheap one maybe actually worse than what I have

I wish advertisements were illegal. or at least 1's that get shown to you without your explicit query for them.

Been exploring physical media as a way to let out some anxiety and emotions. Text with imagery. Ephemeral and fleeting like a fit of rage.

one of the least well hidden rituals in the death cult known as capitalism is the deliberate spoiling and discarding of useable food

U.S. Police kill more than 1100 civilians annually—unprecedented in the developed world.

A new app called TurnSignl, built by Black civil rights lawyers, deescalates police interactions with civilians & get everyone home safe.

Here's how it works.
1. Download the app
2. When pulled over by police, face time a lawyer on demand via voice activation. The call is also auto recorded
3. The lawyer guides the convo.

Download TurnSignl here or gift it to a loved one for free: turnsignl.com/gift

There should be a reverse Indiana Jones film where a South American tribe sneaks into the Vatican, steals some relics, and gets away on a boat while a bunch of men in golden robes shake their fists and shout their strange language.

PSA: Google has now begun to roll-out the Ad Topics "feature" onto Android itself. It's not just in Chrome you have to disable the settings. Please #Boost to spread awareness.

If you didn't get the pop-up screen on your Android device (it looks like the first two screenshots), to opt-out of these settings:

Go to your device Settings
Press "Google"
Press "Ads"While you're here, press the "Delete Advertising ID" button and delete it
Press "Ad Privacy"
Review: "Ad Topics", "App-suggested ads", and "App Measurement". Make sure all are labelled as "OFF". (This page will look like the third screenshot)

If you don't see "Ad Privacy" in Step 4 then it means that it hasn't been rolled out to you yet. You might need to wait and check back in a couple of days to see if/when it has been implemented to disable these settings.

EDIT: There's another setting to review. In step 2, scroll to "Personalize using shared data". Turn everything off.

One thing that bugs me about apps is that I can't leave them open to a page and navigate to another page in the app in another instance (window, sessipn w/e) That's just such a useful feature and mobile app standrds (in terms of what folks do not what's powerful) have made it basically impossible
