Thankful that I learned C as my first "serious" programming language before I got set in my ways. Kinda wish I had more excuses to use it (or Rust tbh) at work. Garbage collected langs low key irk me even though I'm so used to them.

Recommendation systems that aim to maximize time spent scrolling should be illegal.

Even if voting ian't always a great way of choosing paths, I think at least 80% of those involved should actually choose something they beliece in even if they don't think anyone there will necessarily want to choose their option. Even if the option is "none of the above", tbh.

An example of me making life harder on myself for fun. The other is running linux and hoping stuff will compile properly when I try to install them.

When I played The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion as a kid I didn't realize you could just fast travel everywhere and I've ended up imposing a "no fast travel" rule on myself to keep with immersion more ever since.

After my TypeScript-ification slog I've been having fun building with rocksdb-native and compact-encoding. It plays pretty similar to leveldb but a bit more low level and with first class support for separating "column families"

It's not supported yet because I'm jot sure what the protocol handlers would look like and what content already exists for i2p.

OKOK I like typescript again because it helped me find a bug due to a library using a really weird return type. Sometimes a negative number, sometimes an array of objects that also has a string property defined on it for some reason. 🙃
