The culprit of my pain the past three or so work days was that I needed to `pause` the stream after reading the first packet before passing it to the rest of the replication code because adding the `once('data')` listener made it drain all of its contents after the listener got executed but before the replication code could attach. Total LoC for the fix: +33 -7 🙃
