Very excited for this new spec gor WebRecorder for how we can chunk web archive files when uploading to #ipfs to get massive deduplication potential. Also cool to have the DAG get used for analysis between shared files accross datasets and domain origins
Whoa, #Godot 4 seems so good. It's amazing how fast open source efforts in the game dev space have been growing lately.
Android 14 introduces financed devices, where the financing entity has the capability to lock(!) the device in case of a missed payment 🧐 https://commonsware.com/blog/2023/02/11/random-musings-android-14-dp1.html
@jalcine Whack. That should be illegal. How the hell are people with screen readers supposed to deal with that.
Hi everyone, I'm a totally blind electronic musician. Looking for a audio, developer fluent in C++ d to help me with a very special open source project to assist blind people with electronic music production. @silverpill@mitra.social I an in depth comparison in this 3 part series: ipns://hypha.coop/dripline/p2p-primer-part-1/
The tl;dr is hypercore is way faster and more reliable for getting past NAT. Orders of magnitude faster updates. Only has a JS implementation sadly and no official specs. The team working on it is doing some crypto thing with bitfinex but that's not part of the p2p protocol itself. @agregore and distributed.press supports both if you wanna mess around with them.
@nuala Cryptpad.org seems to be the best option I've seen :o
Gonna set some time aside this month to try deploying it and messing about.
I'm not much of a gamer so that part isn't exciting for me, but this seems to be more powerful and more portable than my current computing setup so I think it'll be worth it.
Also, the 4G adapter is exciting since I could potentially replace my Android phone with this thing. :x

@quinn@octodon.social Is getting up in the morning at a specific time absolutely mandatory for your routine? I've been trying to give my body as much rest as I can and getting up when it's ready has been a lot easier than trying to force it awake sooner.
Of course that also means I usually end up working later. Though bringing down to a 4 day work week or 6 hour work days can help with that too.
I've only used adderall and not vyvanse tho. :x
This past few months at the other site has me convinced organizations should 100% do whatever they need to do to build outreach capacity independently from social media sites.
Make a newsletter, a zine, a big Signal group, whatever you want. But it should be yours, so it can't just be bought or taken away.
Whoa, this #GPDWin4 thing seems like a great alternative to the #SteamDeck with beefier specs, a smaller form factor, and a built in keyboard.
Apparently it works more or less out of the box with #linux! I've been thinking of replacing my NUC with the steamdeck, but now I think I'll wait for this to come out and do that instead.
The specs might be better for #VR too.
