@cubicgarden Yeah! Etke.cc has a few they support out of the bpx and you can choose whatever ones you want or don't want. E.g. I didn't bother setting up twitter or linkedin
@cubicgarden Nice! I pay etke.cc to help manage the instance since it's a major pain in the ass to set up from scratch. I use a cloud VM but you can probably run something locally if you set up a public ip or a reverse proxy.
I've mentioned this but I'm gonna make a real post.
If you are setting up Windows 11, select "English (World)" as your language (English Europe also works), and you will have NONE of the third party bloatware installed.
No Candy Crush, no Netflix, just the first party apps
Please do share this info with anyone who may be setting up Windows soon

@cubicgarden I self host my matrix instance and use bridges with e2ee. I've found that organizing stuff into "spaces" has been essential to make sense of messages. E.g. i have a seperate space for messages from loved ones and meatspace friends and others for different projects I work on. It's been a huge boon for ptojects that use multiple apps for comms (discord/slack/etc at once)
@mcc I'd use the exact same format as query string ad pass it into the URLSearchParams class to parse. Easier to parse, construct, modify that way.

body pains
The flesh really do be deteriorating. I've slowed the destruction of my front paws somewhat but a lot of other parts haven't been addressed yet. Maybe access to gym equipment to strengthen it will help a bit. Some of my pals swear by running so maybe there's a balance there that I can take vs the pain. Maybe eventually it'll be mild enough that I can sleep comfortably.
@raboof I mostly use my computer (a steam deck) for programming and reading/writing web articles :)
I've played some games on it too and the screen is higher quality for that than the built in display.
It's pretty nice to be on my back in bed with a bt keyboard in my hands
@danny this, sir, wins the internet 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@trevorflowers yeah that's fair, defs not something to draw upon lightly and without context
@technobaboo @trevorflowers Agree with Nova. as a practicing fan of the occult, magic thinking and metaphores intertwined with tech fit well with my practice at large. I think that Digital servitors are just a manifestation from the astral in the physical 🤷
Are there people out there who are looking at #LLM/AI-generated content as pollution?
Because that is the analogy that makes the most sense to me. It's creating huge externalities for the profit of a few - proliferating enormous amounts of digital pollution (as well as real-world greenhouse gas pollution).
The more #AI/LLM churn out content for the internet, the dirtier the water, so to speak. Or the air. And the less it functions for users.
@Blort @linmob @matthewcroughan i think that was the Rokid Max. I use them as a daily driver and I'm working with folks on making drivers for #Monado to have #OpenXR apps like @stardustxr available for spatial computing interfaces.
Occult Enby that's making local-first software with peer to peer protocols, mesh networks, and the web.
Exploring what a local-first cyberspace might look like in my spare time.
