@lvk I think I'm gonna give up on it for now. Somehow using continue.dev with their "edit" mode has beeb more consistent for me

@fleeky I think lately it's been the cloud based language models that can actually code and follow instructions 💀

Honestly I get a little jelly of folks that just use non free and non open sourced sofware with hard requirements of always being connected to the internet. Stuff just seems so much easier out there. 😅

Fixed it by just reading the docs for pydub and coding it myself. Humans win again :P

Maybe I should stop doing weird stuff and make basic web apps instead so the AI has a chance.

Just wasted 20 mins trying to get aider to write some python. I think this thing would be way more effective if it pulled in docs whenever it tried to use a module

@xeiaso.net the funny thing is this is only like 5 GB of data but the access control system adds like seconds of latency on top of things.

It's kinda satisfying to watch code crunch through GBs of data but it's kinda annoying to wait that long before I can debug the results 😅

Writing to parse SAS code to call via FFI to generate to feed into a front end written in 🫠

Gotta get or in here just to round it off.

Say what you will about homestuck but I feel like life would be better if I slept in a pod full of green slime.

@BenHouston3D I use it with aider for example. It's a billion time dumber than claude but it can do small tasks entirely offline which I think is good.

@BenHouston3D I use local models via ollama exclusively :P Usually I assume an OpenAI compatible backend and allow users to specify a URL/API key.

e.g. agregore.mauve.moe/docs/ai

@lvk BitTorrent actually has their own spec so Webtorrent only conflicts with other torrent instances (this makes local testing annoying)

bittorrent.org/beps/bep_0014.h

npmjs.com/package/bittorrent-l

@BenHouston3D IS the claude dependency due to specific features or is there a chance we could use it with OpenAI compatible APIs like ollama or deepseek?

I beg you protocol authors. Please use something other than embedded MDNs for local network peer discovery so you can work outside of specific linux environments 😭 Only one process can bind on that port and it likely won't be yours or else it'll ruin some other part of the system in weird abd subtle ways.

war worries

@garbados I hope we can live to be in uninteresting times sooner than later 🙏

@akhileshthite Yeah that's a good idea actually. I think in european countries they had a similar cycle but used it to do chores and writing. Imve just been getting some water and going back to sleep :P

The people who invented virtual backgrounds need to create virtual outfits so nobody can tell that you haven’t changed out of your pajamas.

Been forcing myself into bed earlier on weekdays which sometimes helps. It also weirdly makes that hour I wake up for between 4-6 AM more consistent.

war worries

@garbados My hope is that it'll be a trade war rather than going right to military (if it happens at all). I think a bunch of Canadian politician types are shit talking the US on their ability to successfully maintain occupations especially as their global hold is in the middle of being dissolved. 🤷 I like the fan theory of the US balkanizing and NY trying to link up with Canada :P
