@light Yeah I think it's a recent gen z / gen alpha slang. I saw it in tiktok comments and looked it up

@risottobias @jonny Ah. That's to do with others seeding your data and not you seeding others data, no? Also bittorrent has the exact same issue. Afaik Earthstar and Peergos are closest to having usable "delete across the network" features.

@risottobias @jonny Could you elaborate on the IPFS point? It only stores data that you explicitly load unless you're creating a public gateway for others.

With bittorrent v2, the division between bittorrent and other protocols is very very thin indeed, but as @aud said the other day, "true bittorrent has never been tried" - it got spec'd and then we never really used the cool things it can do

Well, it was time to destroy my sacrifice file and purge my mastodon cache again. 💀

Made great progress on reimplementing the hypercore protocol handlers in using the new "bare" runtime which I'll be using to get it into mobile.

We've got a new release of with improvements to "reader mode" and a new "View history" page!

@j3rn Oof yeah that's the main reason I ditched pixel last time I needed a change. Been kinda reworking all my peripherals / devices around USB C lately which has been going well. Hope you figure out your laptop sitch 🙏

@j3rn ugh that's unfortunate. which devices are you using hdmi for?

I ended up fixing the "reader mode" and adding a "view history page" with the option to delete.

Next time I'll be focused on agregore-mobile. I made some progress last month on getting "bare" running so now I need to port the protocol handler code to it and then embed it as a daemon in the chromium code the way we did for IPFS via golang.

@j3rn Nice! Yeah I dunno about multi monitor stuff since I just plug it via USB into my linux box. I also like using the neckband to watch shows while I do housework. TBH I mainly got it for the diopters+dimming combo but I think there's other options for that now too. I think XReal is furthest along in terms of consumer software + their puck thing.

@j3rn Yeah, Viture XR Pro. It's the best option I've tried so far. I think I need to get some astigmatism lens inserts to get it even better.
I kinda wish the FOV was even bigger and it covered my peripheral vision more. Also it looks stupid since it sticks out on your face noticably more than regular sunglasses.

The myopia adjustment and general clarity is great though.

@makeworld The public internet isn't a safe venue for posting pictures. 🤪 I can DM on matrix if you'd like.

Hacking at the mall food court on my head mounted display setup. Teenage me would be proud. 😎

K, I'm gonna work on for a bit. Not sure what to prioritize since there's a lot of TODOs

Feel free to vote on anything you think I should focus on. OR link to the github issue in this thread.

@jeremy_list Yeah in terms of fedi there's just a few coworkers and stuff on here. One of my pals locally apparently has an account but they want it to stay anon 🤷

@light friiiends 🥺🥺🥺 And "the huzz" as they say.

I wish more of my meatspace moots were night owls. 😰

I love beeing a creepy snake witch. My ball python had a blast being a living hat and sniffin my eyeball and nearly getting stuck in my hair bun 🤪

My heart drops when I see a user in the wild posting chat GPT answers to creative "what if" questions instead of spending a bit of time thinking for fun. Or when they quote chatgpt as an authority on something after asking it a leading question and having zero actual knowledge to verify it.
