At the rate I'm going by 2030 I'm going to be using lynx as my main browser just so I don't have to see AI imagery

@nasser Yeah tbh the main thing I find hard is doing nice curves. I end up doing so much trig math to get minimal results 😭

@terrantechpriest The way the renderer works in Agregore is it detects the mime type of a page in a web extension and then injects js+html to render the page. Sadly this means the webserver with the data needs to serve the correct mime type else it triggers a download. I've been considering doing some hacks on the http headers to work around it tho.

@nasser i think it's easier to write svg from scratch or codegen it :P

@aynish so thankful for air conditioning 😭💜 first year I have it available consistently and even then it struggles during the peak

Thankfully it didn't die! I just needed to do a hard reset with a paperclip for some reason. 😅

@fabrice @VeilidNetwork Main repo for our code. Most of the stuff there is from my coworker vincent.

github.com/OpenArchive/save-dw

main stuff I'm working on is in here: not yet merged tho. github.com/RangerMauve/veilid-

honestly don'y expect the code to be the most idiomatic rust 🤣

@fabrice @VeilidNetwork I skip iroh-net entirely actually and just use the hashes. It's actually a massive pain because their replication code is tightly coupled to their networking library 🥲 I have a protocol over veilid app calls I'm working on with stream multiplexing between two route ids. Just a u32 prefix for stream id + arbitrary bytes. I can link code on tuesday. We want ip privacy so veilid routes are a must.

@fabrice @VeilidNetwork yeah! I am building a thing on it for open archive. I'm still jot amazing with Rust but I love the primitives they give us to work with. I'm running iroh replication over it using app calls. The dht is great for secure group discovery.

Wish I had more computer touching energy for building vr environments

My pooter ran out of battery or something while it was in its case lastnight. I hope it didn't overheat again 😰😰😰 won't be able to check until I charge it later tonight

I shared this one on other social media platforms, and some tech bros are angry 😡 lol. I never understood why some people worship big corporations so much 🤔 It is not just that these companies are also firing people left and right despite making huge fortunes. They only care about meeting shareholders' bottom lines; everyone else is just a casualty. So much for one big happy family 😵

Jeeze I need to curate a second less stressful fedi feed.

@ireneista It'd be fun if there was a trend in cgibto make it look like unsophisticated practical effects. Like million dollar compute clusters rendering a shitty costume made of cardboard

i played some sonic adventure on it and it calmed down and got docked + shut down for the weekend. I hope it had sweet dreams. ☺️

My poor computer. I put it in sleep mode and carried it around. I have no auto sleep so when it woke up in thr case is started overheating and probably has for hours now. 😭 finally got it out and it's slowly winding down its CPU fans.

Watching 90s movies and I really feel lime practical effects are more fun than fancy photorealistic cgi

@jerry this is exactly why I included some default blocklists in the fedi impl we're working on at distributed press. Having even the bare minimum like garden fence means not having to deal with a large amount of garbage for new and vulnerable users.
