Fucking hell somebody's been trying to convince my family members to vote for the "people's party" which is our "far right" party full of neo nazis / white supremacists. 😭

LLM nonsense

@gregeganSF To be fair due to the way tokenization works LLMs never really learn the individual letters in words and have a hard time with this specific category of problem. People like to dunk on them with "how many R's are in strawberry" for example.

Tensorflow is fun because you can make bonkers amounts of math happen with just a few bits of code.

It'd be cool if one could do similar stuff i UIUA just due to how it enables bonkers amounts of math to happen in it too.

This election may be your last chance to vote out #DougFord -- today he said he wants to be Premier of Ontario 'forever'.

Instead of doom scrolling I'm reading up on recurrent neural networks and transformer models.

On the 10th I'll be teaching some folks a bit about autoencoders with this "Neural spatial curves" project I've been working on. Hopefully I can get this model visualizer tool together in time

@skyfaller @ieure @sarahjamielewis Yiiiikes. Thank you for the heads up, I was not aware of that. Also gonna give fennic a shot on android ty. I've been using Firefox Beta on there (in addition to my bespoke browser) and it's been a decent experience.

@ieure @sarahjamielewis Yeah LibreWolf is a great option tbh. Is there a mobile equivalent?

I think Dev pressure is really not enough. I can't even do calls in slack in Firefox even though it has a decent WebRTC impl. I think a lot of it is lazyness tbh. But how can I pressure slack? I just have to open chrome for work. I'm glad there's at least degoogled forks even if they die off periodically.

Have you tried out ladybird? ladybird.org/

honestly I would prefer if cash did not rule everything around me

@ieure @sarahjamielewis What is your preferred alternative? Does your preferred alternative work for most cases and put pressure on Google? I use it because I need web apps to work and it is open source.

@sarahjamielewis I've been enjoying the various "ungoogled chromium" forks out there like Bromite.

For real this font based syntax highlighting is so good. Screw ever needing a JS based editor again, just shove in a textarea and call it a day. Need some sort of formatting? Just do a lil `textarea.value = format(textarea.value)` and call it a day

it'd be neat to be able to replicate my soul in cyberspace some day. Even if it quickly diverges from the perspectives of my flesh self. I think we'd still get along.

We've got a new release (2.8.2) of Agregore Desktop which brings "font-based" syntax highlighting to all Code Blocks and TextArea inputs

github.com/AgregoreWeb/agregor

Eatin chickie tendies for lunch and doing some fun code in Agregore.

Got a PR for adding font level syntax highlighting so just doing some fixes before we release.

This'll be great because I've really wanted syntax highlighting in stuff like TextArea tags but didn't want to import heavy JavaScript deps.

For my pals, remember to vote this Thursday! Even if you didn't register you can still show up with a valid piece of ID. Lets kick Ford out so we can stop having our social services gutted while he gives handouts to his millionaire pals.

@makeworld but the issue was a lack of tablet drivers. I use xournal++ usually

@makeworld Ah, I find draw messes up the formatting a lot of the time when it edits PDFs
